Passion fruit and Bing cherry come off the nose of this wine with a distinctive, wet gravel minerality. As you look at the wine in your glass it continues to dance and open up to its more complex flavors and aromatics. The palate on this wine evokes a traditional Champagne in weight and fineness of bubbles; however, the easy-drinking, fruit forward youth of the wine makes it very quaffable.

Mizany Vineyard is a 16-acre vineyard planted in the famous Cortina Gravel of Dry Creek Valley. They purchased the vineyard in 2011 and named it after his father-in-law. When planting the Zinfandel Vineyard they took a heritage approach and planted a field blend much like the first vineyards planted in the area.

After releasing their first vintage of Breaking Bread wines in 2018, he was ready for a new adventure and set his sights on creating their 2019 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Pet Nat. He secured as many Pet Nats as he could find in the market, tried the different varietals and styles available and formed his approach to making a Pet Nat. First and foremost, he wanted to highlight the renowned Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel. Dry Creek Valley is his home base, and having worked with Zinfandel for many years, he was able to play with it in an entirely new way. He never imagined picking this grape at 19 brix. With an already high acid varietal like Zinfandel, he needed to be careful to maintain balance. Another goal with their Pet Nat was to make their first truly zero zero wine. They were successful on both fronts. Their 100% Zinfandel Sparkling Pet Nat is a highlight in the Breaking Bread offering.
