The youngest of a family of 7 children, Joël grew up in the vineyards and his training was done empirically and spontaneously. In 1979, he baptized the estate "Saint Damien" in homage to a ruined chapel located near the cellars which no longer exists today. Over time, he acquired new plots, modernized the cellar and developed marketing in bottles.
In 2013, after his wine training and oenology studies, Romain came to join his father to gradually take over.
Today the estate comprises forty-five hectares spread over the Gigondas, Plan de Dieu, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages andPGI French wine.
They only use natural products to protect the vines from various diseases: sulphur, copper in small quantities in the form of Bordeaux mixture, plant infusions, goat whey, essential oils...
In winter, they promote grass cover to maintain life in the soil. Fertilization is done only with manure from organic farms located in the Alps. From April to July the soils are worked mechanically.
During the harvest, the work in the cellar is guided by a rigorous selection of the plots, so as to favor the expression of the different soil terroirs, or so that they complement each other during the blend.
All thier wines are vinified, aged and bottled at the estate.
