This is from the limestone Pfalz, where Pinot Noir does quite well. If you haven’t heard of Frühburgunder it is an early ripening, delicate and elegant cousin to Pinot Noir. A very soft crushing to not get too much color, with as little skin contact as possible to make it ultra light. Very aromatic, soaring red fruit, lots of citrus, a salty minerality.

Müller-Ruprecht has stood for viticulture in Kallstadt since 1702. Today, this tradition no longer obliges you to anything. Nevertheless, Sabine Wöhrwag decided to continue the business and to manage the outstanding locations owned by the family. The trained winemaker and graduate engineer is supported by her husband Philipp and her parents Jutta and Ulrich Müller.
Everyone agrees that the Saumagen, Kreidkeller, Weilberg and Herrenberg sites and the care of the vineyards are the essentials for the grapes that are to be turned into clear, fine wines. The focus is on Riesling, the queen of vines. The portfolio is expanded to include classic Palatinate grape varieties such as Gewürztraminer and Scheurebe. But the Burgundy varieties also find the right soil to grow and thrive. Senior boss Ulrich Müller, as a passionate red wine lover, planted the first red vines early on. The focus is now on Pinot Noir; Experiments are also being carried out with Merlot, Cabernet and Co.
Sabine and Philipp love working in their vineyards. Each vintage is reinterpreted with care. Both draw energy from the joy of good wine.
