Paltrinieri Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice 2020 is a sparkling rosé wine. The nose is fruity, with notes of citrus (grapefruit), strawberries and flowers (wild roses). The palate is fresh, with very marked acidity. Pomegranate and green apple flavors. Flavorsome and well balanced. Persistent.
Achille Paltrinieri founded his winery in 1926. The Paltrinieri winery was founded in the northeast of Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region, in Modena, and is still operating today. The owner and captain of the ship are the founder’s grandson Alberto Paltrinieri and Barbara (his wife), the fourth generation of the family, who continue to cultivate the Lambrusco di Sorbara variety between the Secchia and Panaro rivers.
Today, both Alberto and Barbara are very aware of the legacy they are preserving. They say that for a tree to grow it must have strong roots. You have to know where you come from to know where you are going. And this is something they were aware of when they created Paltrinieri Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice, a fruity rosé made using the traditional method of bottle fermentation in the D.O.C. Lambrusco di Sorbara.
The grapes come from the 15 hectares of vineyards that they organically cultivate in the Il Cristo area on clay and sandy soils that are rich in organic substances. The work continues in the winery, where Paltrinieri Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice is very gently pressed. Without any maceration, the must is placed in stainless steel tanks where the first fermentation takes place. Once the base wine has been made, Paltrinieri Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice is bottled and the second fermentation happens in the bottle. The lees, or dead yeasts, will remain in contact with the wine for some time, which will give it body and volume.
