Keep it natural, baby.
Spicy nose with red fruits. A medium body with refreshing acidity and a savoury dry finish. Grapes are hand harvested in the cool morning to retain their natural freshness. A mix of whole-bunch and destemmed fruit is gently crushed and fermented with natural yeasts in unlined concrete tanks, with some punch-downs. The wine then spends 20 months on the lees in stainless steel and old 225l oak. No additives used during the winemaking process, apart from a touch of SO2.
Vale da Capucha wines are grown in the Lisbon coast, only 8 km from the Atlantic ocean. Vineyards planted on kimmeridgian limestone with clay. Indigenous grape varieties – Arinto, Fernu Pires, Alvarinho, Gouveio, certified organic viticulture by SATIVA and natural winemaking (only SO2) assure the maximum expression of this terroir blessed by the Atlantic influence. Transparent fermentations, nothing is added or taken from the juice, and the result are bright, energized wines that breathe life.
